Quince Orchard Defeats BCC 50-0 in a Lightning-Shortened Contest

Bethesda, Maryland Walter Johnson High School August 31, 2018

Early season football games are interesting because teams are trying to set a tone for the upcoming season by proving they are on the right track for success.  Quince Orchard thrilled their fans with the first play of the game by running back the kickoff for a touchdown.  This first score by the Cougars was the beginning of an offensive onslaught that would tally 50 points in a lightning-shortened game that ended with more than four minutes remaining in the first half.  BCC never crossed the fifty-yard line, but let’s not forget they were playing the 2017 Regional Champions in their home opener.

Quince Orchard scored in almost every way possible for their 50 point total.  It was fitting that distant lightning ended the game in the first half.

BCC will put this game behind them quickly and moves on to their next opponent Rockville High.  Quince Orchard will have to do the same and know their next opponent Blair High will be their next challenge.
