Back to School: Gaithersburg HS Initiative Attempts to Ease Transition to High School

Montgomery County Public Schools introduced a new initiative this summer at Gaithersburg High School. The initiative referred to as the Trojan Experience, attempts to ease the transition for students from middle to high school. One hundred twelve incoming ninth-graders participated in the week-long program which focused on creating a sense of community and maintaining positive mental health.

The initiative, made possible by the Jim and Carol Trawick Foundation, Identity and NAMI Montgomery County, began this summer and will continue into the school year. MCPS-TV has the story.
