It’s what they signed up to do and volunteered to do.”
Officer Dan Lane, a spokesperson for the city of Gaithersburg Police Department, said ten city officers would be assisting with security during the inauguration as well.
Montgomery County fire and rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer said local firefighters will be backing up the D.C. Fire Department with crews and equipment along the inaugural parade route.
