State Trooper Honored For Arresting 150 Impaired Drivers in 2018

Maryland State Police Trooper Anthony Wallace made more impaired driver arrests than any other state trooper in Maryland in 2018.

On July 12, the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce presented Wallace with a Meritorious Service Citation for arresting 150 people who were driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Montgomery County and neighboring areas.

“We’ve all been affected by drunk driving in some way shape or form,” Sgt. Michael Taluskie, the assistant commander of Maryland State Police, said while presenting the award to Wallace.

By keeping the roads safe from impaired drivers, Wallace has reduced property damage collisions, personal injury collisions, traffic back up, and he’s saved a number of lives.

“With all the arrests that he’s made, who knows the untold families that were spared because of TFC Wallace,” said Taluskie.

Wallace has continued strongly enforcing the laws on the roads, and has averaged 10 impaired driver arrests a month in 2019.
