Trump Says U.S. Has 15 Days to Best Lower Coronavirus Infection Rate

President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and members of the Coronavirus Task Force held a briefing at the White House Monday to announce new CDC guidelines to stop the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The president said there are steps Americans can take in the next 15 days to best lower the infection rate over the entire course of the virus, as recommended by experts.

The guidance, per CDC, is to stay home if you feel sick and contact your medical provider and do the same for your children, keep the entire household home if someone tests positive for the virus and contact your medical provider, stay home and away from other people if you are an older person or have a serious underlying health condition.

Trump announced that the CDC recommends avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people. The CDC recommended homeschooling children when possible and avoiding discretionary travel, bars, restaurants, and public food courts.
