Montgomery County Coronavirus Cases Increase to 447, State Cases Near 2 Thousand, State Deaths Nearly Double
Each morning, the Maryland Department of Health releases the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state. The number of Montgomery County coronavirus cases increased to 447, according to the health departments statistics released Tuesday morning.
The cases in the County continue to climb as there were 301 cases on Sunday, which increased to 341 on Monday and 388 on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday morning, there are 1,985 confirmed cases in Maryland, up from 1,660 on Monday. The state has seen an increase of 746 cases since Sunday.
The total number of deaths in Maryland due to COVID-19 is currently at 31, up from 18 Tuesday. At this time, there is no information about the 13 additional deaths since Tuesday morning.
Maryland Department of Health released information about the three COVID-19 deaths reported on Tuesday in a tweet afternoon. The deceased include a Carroll County man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions, a Howard County man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions, and a Prince George’s County man in his 40s, with no underlying medical conditions.
The total number of deaths in Maryland due to COVID-19 is currently at 31, up from five Friday, March 27. With 18 reported deaths Tuesday, this is the single largest increase in one day in the state.
Montgomery County’s Coronavirus website now includes information on COVID-19 cases and deaths in the County. The County’s Department of Health and Human Services will update the page twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Of the total Maryland cases, 522 were hospitalized at some point and 69 have been released from isolation. According to the Maryland Department of Health, 17,233 Marylanders tested negative for coronavirus.
