MCPS to Share Information About Grading Next Week

Families will receive information about grading for the third and fourth quarter next week, said Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Superintendent Dr. Jack Smith in a message to the MCPS community Thursday.

Smith said MCPS is working with other school systems and the state Department of Education to figure out how grading will work for the fourth quarter.

Schools will post their schedules for week three of learning on their websites. There are no classes April 9-13, due to spring break. The third quarter ends on Friday, April 17 and grades will be submitted by April 21. Report cards will be mailed the week of April 27.

There will be no meal distribution during spring break April 9-13. However, Women Who Care Ministries will give out weekend meals on Friday, and Manna Food Center will provide weekend food packs on Saturday. The superintendent said more than 213,000 meals were given to families this week.

Smith said more than 9,000 Chromebooks and MiFi hotspots were given to students this week. Parents should contact their child’s school if they need to be added to the list to get a Chromebook.
