José Andrés Makes TIME Magazine Cover

Celebrity chef and Bethesda resident José Andrés is featured on the cover of TIME magazine this week.

His non-profit World Central Kitchen (WCK) feeds people in areas suffering from natural or man-made crises. Now, it’s feeding people impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

WCK fed people quarantined on the Grand Princess cruise ship in California after the coronavirus was confirmed onboard. The non-profit also fed guests quarantined on the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan after more than 600 passengers were diagnosed with the coronavirus. WCK continues to feed people across the U.S. in places like Washington, D.C., New York City and Los Angeles.

On Monday, Andrés said he is donating 4,000 N95 masks to George Washington University Hospital and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
