Five Things to Know for March 13 in Montgomery County

Today is Wednesday, March 13. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Conversation on Racial Equity Begins: Montgomery County Council is doing more to address systemic racism in the county. This morning at 10 a.m., County Executive Marc Elrich, the County Council, the Montgomery County Planning Board, and student representatives from Montgomery College and the Board of Education are meeting at 10 a.m. to discuss racial equity policy. After this meeting, all county residents are invited to a Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice at the Silver Spring Civic Building at 7:30 p.m.

2. Discussions on Safety and Security: Montgomery County Public School’s Safety and Security Conversation series continues tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville. Check out the link below for more information.

3. Celebrate Women’s History Month in Gaithersburg: The City of Gaithersburg is hosting a conversation about resilient leadership tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a networking opportunity that features an interesting panel discussion with female entrepreneurs. 4. Chick-fil-a with a Cop: Montgomery County Police is inviting residents to eat chicken nuggets with them from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Mid County Community Recreation Center in Layhill.
