COVID-19 Numbers: Montgomery County Cases Increase by 167; Statewide Cases Pass 16 Thousand

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

As of Friday morning, the Maryland Department of Health reports 3,227 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 167 cases from the 3,060 cases reported Thursday.

The health department reports that 135 Montgomery County residents have died from COVID-19. This is an increase of 14 deaths since Thursday. The state also reports the number of probable deaths which have not yet been confirmed with COVID-19 testing. The number of probable deaths is 19.

There is no additional information about the 14 deaths since Thursday at this time.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics

As of Friday morning, Maryland reports 16,616 cases of COVID-19, which is an increase of 879 from the 15,737 cases reported Thursday.

The total number of deaths in Maryland due to COVID-19 is currently reported as 723, up from 680 on Thursday. There is no additional information about the 43 deaths at this time.

Of the total Maryland cases, 3,618 were hospitalized at some point in their illness and 1,108 patients have been released from isolation. According to the Maryland Department of Health, there have been 69,100 negative coronavirus tests in the state.

Currently, 1,425 patients are hospitalized in the state. Of those, 878 patients are receiving acute care and 547 patients are receiving intensive care.
