Bethesda Restaurant Gears Up for Phase 2 Reopening

Phase 2 of reopening in Montgomery County begins Friday at 5 p.m.

Staff at Tommy Joe’s in Bethesda spoke with MyMCMedia about how they’re preparing to safely resume indoor seating. This is the lone Tommy Joe’s, after the Kentlands location closed.

Montgomery County announced that Phase 2 of reopening includes indoor retail services and restaurant seating, childcare services and more. The following will remain closed: concerts, theaters, senior centers, libraries, recreation facilities and some personal services like tanning salons.

The county said positive COVID-19 metrics have allowed for the move to Phase 2. These include decreasing numbers in daily new cases and a declining hospitalization rate.
