Today is Friday, Oct. 22 and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.
1. Small Business Town Hall: The series of biweekly town halls to keep businesses informed continues today from noon-1 p.m. Judy Costello, a special projects manager for the County Executive will be joined by Kelly Groff, Cory Van Horn, both from the county’s tourism bureau, Visit Montgomery to discuss promoting tourism and hospitality in the county. The town hall may be joined via Zoom here. The webinar ID is 985 8422 4354. The passcode is 057204. The meeting will be broadcast on County Cable Montgomery and streamed live on the county Facebook page.
2. MyMCMedia’s Friday Night Lights Game of the Week features a battle between two undefeated football teams: 7-0 Quince Orchard vs 7-0 Northwest at 4:30 pm. Both teams are ranked in The Washington Post’s top 20 teams for the area. Follow @TravisDC95 on Twitter for live scoring updates. The police and public schools announced Wednesday there would be added precautions in place and the game would occur two hours earlier. Numerous student fights at Seneca Valley during the Oct. 15 game against Northwest resulted in officials ending the game early.

3. Free Flu Shot Clinic: Montgomery County is offering a free flu shot clinic from 2-6 p.m. at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are accepted. Seasonal flu shots are also available through private health providers, as well as retail locations throughout the county.
4. Job Openings: The county is looking to fill openings with the Police Department for the next academy class, with the Fire and Rescue Service for the recruit class 51, and with the Recreation Department.

5. Rockville 100th Anniversary Parade: The Rockville Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating 100 years of service Sunday, Oct. 24 with a parade of antique fire trucks to start at 11 a.m. The parade will be followed by an antique fire truck muster display at the school board parking log and a party from noon to 4 p.m. with fire safety demonstrations, kid’s activities and, of course, antique fire trucks. The T2 Ride On bus will follow a detour Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and multiple streets will be closed in Rockville.
