Croydon Park in Rockville Awarded DNR Grant to Replace Playground

Rockville’s Croydon Park Playground received $131,500 from the Department of Natural Resources as one of 23 parks and playgrounds grants. The money will replace an existing 21-year-old playground, and install new picnic tables, benches, pads and trash cans, according to information from DNR. The agency distributed $2.5 million to municipalities across the state.

Nearly 5,000 Deer Killed in Montgomery County During 2016-17 Season

Nearly 5,000 deer were killed in Montgomery County during the 2016-17 hunting season, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources reported Friday. County hunters killed 1,505 antlered deer, a 7.4 percent increase, and 3,368 antlerless deer, a 0.7 percent increase.
