Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Bethesda

montgomery county police for slider 855x380Montgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Sunday afternoon on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda.

It happened shortly before 1 p.m. at Old Georgetown Road and Lone Oak Drive and involved a car and a motorcycle.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates a tan, 2005, Honda Accord was traveling north on Old Georgetown Road. As the driver of the Honda attempted to make a left turn onto Lone Oak Drive, police said the vehicle struck a blue, 2006, Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling south on Old Georgetown Road.

According to police, the operator of the motorcycle was seriously injured and was transported to Suburban Hospital, where he died from his injuries. Police have identified him as 52-year-old Gary Bird Seward of Greentree Road in Bethesda.
