Hogan on Potential Democrat Challengers, Including Delaney
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was asked about his 2018 reelection campaign during a stop in Silver Spring Monday.
“It’s a year and a half away so I got plenty of time to look at that,” said Hogan. “The folks on the other side of the aisle have about a year to figure out who is going to run against me and they have seven or eight people talking about it but I am going to just try and continue to stay focused on Maryland and maybe in a year or so from now we will think about re-election.”
When asked about his potential opponents, including Congressman John Delaney, Hogan noted his own popularity rating.
“The latest polling that we have shows that are about six percent of the people in Maryland that strongly disapprove of the job that I am doing. [It] seems like everyone of them wants to run for governor,” Hogan said. “I wish them all well…we will be ready for them.”
When asked about Delaney, Hogan said he doesn’t pay much attention to what Delaney says.
“I can tell you that we are making a whole lot of progress, and he is not,” Hogan said before walking away from reporters.
