Five Things to Know Today, Sept. 2, in Montgomery County

It’s Wednesday, Sept. 2 and here are five things for you to know today:

1. Virtual Briefing: Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Emergency Management and Homeland Security Director Dr. Earl Stoddard will hold a virtual media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch the briefing on Facebook Live and on County Cable Montgomery (CCM).

2. Free Coronavirus Testing: Montgomery County’s free coronavirus testing clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wheaton Library & Community Recreation Center and the CDC Mobile Trailer at Lakeforest Mall.

3. Planning Commission Meeting: The City of Gaithersburg Planning Commission meets tonight at 7:30 p.m.

4. Senior Planet Montgomery: Senior Planet Montgomery continues offering free Zoom classes to Senior residents. Today’s classes include “The Age Friendly Guide to Sharing Your Voice Online” and “Coping with COVID…Why Do I Still Feel This Way?”

5. MCM Classes: Are you ready to produce great content with MCM? Then sign up for one of our upcoming virtual classes. On Sept. 10, we have an orientation where you can learn about what MCM’s Education Department has to offer. On Sept. 14, you can begin our 2-session long “Step into Virtual Podcasting” class.
