1. World Water Day:  Astronaut and former science teacher Ricky Arnold will be at Glenallan Elementary School in Silver Spring today talking with third- through fifth-graders. Arnold and the students will then walk to Brookside Gardens to take part in a water festival—a hands-on, interactive morning of activity stations that will teach them about all aspects of water.

2. Rockville International Night: The evning will feature performers drawing from Rockville’s diverse cultures, information tables and, following the performance, a tasting of ethnic and cultural food in the F. Scott Theatre’s social hall.

4. Women’s History Month:  In honor of Women’s History Month, MCM is recognizing some of Montgomery County’s most notable women in our community. Read about the contributions of Emily Edmonson, Pamila Foltz, Monica Jeffries Hazangeles, Kathleen Matthews, Nancy Navarro, and Erin O’Shea.

Longtime Montgomery County resident Sue Palka has been the chief weather forecaster at FOX5 in Washington DC for 33 years.

5. Five Women Who Changed and Were Changed by the American Civil War: Learn about five women who made important contributions during the American Civil War in a presentation Saturday, March 23 at Rockville Memorial Library.
