Five Things to Know for Oct. 5 in Montgomery County

Happy Friday! Here are five things to know today, Friday, Oct. 5, in Montgomery County:

1. Procurement Forum: The County Office of Procurement hosts the third annual forum to assist businesses to find procurement opportunities, network with peers and create new connections. The free forum takes place at the Silver Spring Civic Center.

2. Schools Close Early:  Montgomery County Public Schools close early today.

3. Group Astronomy Day: Bring a group of children ages 6-10 years old to explore the historic Gaithersburg Latitude Observatory, learn about telescopes, observe the Sun through our solar telescopes, make a model of the Earth-Sun-Moon orbit, and train like an astronaut from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

4. Friday Night Football: Out PEG partner, Montgomery College TV (MCTV) will stream the Quince Orchard at Paint Branch game tonight with kickoff at 6:30 p.m.
