Five Things to Know for Oct. 29 in Montgomery County

It’s Monday, Oct. 29, and here are five things Montgomery County residents need to know:

1. Early Voting Continues: Early voting continues until Thursday, Nov. 1. This website lists Montgomery County’s early voting centers and the wait times at each.

2. Snow is in the forecast: Not in the foreseeable future, but sometime this winter, crews will be pushing snow out of streets, roads and highways. County Executive Ike Leggett will host his annual event to discuss how the county is ready for snow. The event takes place 11 a.m. at the Gaithersburg Depot on Crabbs Branch Way.

CANCELED 3. Meeting the Media: County Council President Hans Riemer meets with the media at noon to discuss the next steps on zoning regulations for small cell towers, as well as the council’s ongoing efforts to expand early childcare and pre-kindergarten, Head Start and community-based early education programs.

4. New Treatment Center: Leggett and Gov. Larry Hogan will be in Rockville at 2:30 p.m. to break ground on a new Avery Road Treatment Center. The new facility will replace the current building and provide residential substance abuse treatment for county residents.
