Five Things to Know for May 10 in Montgomery County

Scattered thunderstorms are likely today, Friday, May 10. Here is a rundown of five more things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Pedestrian Safety:  County officials will activate the newest high intensity activated crosswalk beacon on Aspen Hill Road between Georgia and Connecticut Avenues at noon Friday in an effort to increase pedestrian safety at this heavily traveled intersection.

3. Community Theatre: The premiere of the Kensington Arts Theatre’s production of Oliver takes place at the Kensington Town Hall at 8:15 p.m. Rockville Little Theatre  presents Sherlock’s Veiled Secret at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at 8 p.m.

4. Master Plan Information Session: The Rockville Planning Commission and the city will explain the draft master plan and the process to update the plan at City Hall Saturday, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

5. MCDOT Day and Truck Show: Celebrate public works week at the County Transportation truck show Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Touch a truck, see demonstrations of the trucks, take a tour of the Gaithersburg depot.
