1. Safe Spaces for LGBTQ+ Workshop: There will be a Safe Spaces for LGBTQ+ Individuals today from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Universities at Shady Grove in Building III (Camille Kendall Academic Center). The workshop will help people understand how to be an ally to the LGBTQIA communities. The workshop costs $10 for Nonprofit Montgomery members and $25 for non-members. Here’s more information.
2. Officer Noah Leotta Memorial Blood Drive: People can donate blood in honor of Officer Noah Leotta today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters’ first-floor conference room in Gaithersburg. Here’s more information.
3. Pick n’ Picnic: People can stop by Butler’s Orchard in Germantown today from 10:30 to noon to pick strawberries and enjoy a picnic, nature trail, and farm animals. The event is free, but people have to pay for the strawberries they pick. Register for the event here.
4. Gaithersburg Open Recreation Registration Begins: It’s the first day of open recreation registration for city of Gaithersburg residents. Residents can register for summer classes and program vis the RecXpress online portal.
5. Takoma Park City Council Meeting: Takoma Park City Council meets tonight from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Takoma Park Recreation Center.
