1.  Brookside Gardens Turns 50: It’s official — Brookside Gardens has been around for half a century. Join Montgomery Parks in celebrating Brookside Gardens’s fiftieth anniversary today at 9:30 a.m. at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton.

2.  Public Safety Awards Breakfast: The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce is honoring forty Upcounty police officers, special operation teams, firefighters, and paramedics this morning. Stay tuned for MyMCMedia’s coverage of the event.

3. Blues Beatles: A Brazil-based Blues Beatles group is remixing some of The Beatles’ classic hits with traditional blues arrangements. They’ll be playing at AMP by Strathmore in North Bethesda tonight at 8 p.m. Get tickets to the show here.

Chautauqua 2019: Maryland Humanities’ 25 season for Chautauqua living history continues tonight at Globe Hall in the High Technology Building at Montgomery College in Germantown at 7 p.m. Tonight attendees will learn about Grace O’Malley, the 16th century Irish Pirate Queen. 5. Rockville Town Square Summer Concert: Tonight Scott Kurt and Memphis 59 are performing at the free outdoor summer concert at Rockville Town Square from 6 to 9 p.m.
