Five Things to Know for Jan. 24 in Montgomery County

The National Weather Service’s flood watch continues through the afternoon. Here are five things to know Thursday, Jan. 24, in Montgomery County.

1. MCPS Board of Education Meets: The Board of Education meets today for a work session on the operating budget. The agenda may be found here.

2. Planning Board Meets: The Planning Board meets today and the meeting agenda may be found, here. Watch the meeting live, here.

3. Councilmember Friedson Community Conversation:  Councilmember Andrew Friedson, who represents Council District 1, is having a meeting with residents to discuss important local issues from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Burning Tree Elementary School in Bethesda. Council District 1 includes Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Garrett Park, Glen Echo, Friendship Heights, North Bethesda, Potomac, Poolesville, Randolph Hills, and Somerset.

4. Save a Life: Free training is available to learn to administer the medication Naloxone to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Participants who complete the training will receive a free Naloxone kit. Registration is required.

And one more thing: The “Our Moments in Time” art exhibit at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park is on display from now through March 10. The public is invited to meet the photographers and learn more about their creative process during a free Artists Reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
