Five Things to Know for Dec. 6 in Montgomery County

It’s Thursday, Dec. 6, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. MCM’s December Small Business Network: Host Kelly Leonard moderates a panel of small business leaders this morning at MCM’s studios. If you did not get a chance to register, just arrive by 8 or 8:30 to register at the door.

2. Planning Meeting: The Planning Board meets today and will work on the plan for the Aspen Hill Vision Zero Sector Plan and the Forest Glen/Montgomery Hills Sector Plan, as well as other items. The meeting agenda may be found, here.

3. Regional Transportation Meeting:  The Washington Suburban Transit Commission (WSTC) will hold a public forum to provide information to the community on its role as a transit coordinating body in the Washington Suburban Transit District which is comprised of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. The transit providers operating in the region will also discuss their services and projects. Additionally, the forums will provide an opportunity for WSTC to collect public feedback on transit-oriented projects in the region.

4. Rockville City Hall Closed:  City Hall will be closed 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. today. All other city facilities will be open during this time.

5. Foster parents: An informational meeting on becoming a licensed foster parent in Montgomery County starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Gaithersburg Library, 18330 Montgomery Village Avenue, Gaithersburg.
