Five Things to Know for Dec. 2 in Montgomery County
Showers this afternoon. And not much rain expected for the rest of the week. Here are five things to know in Montgomery County for Dec. 2.
1. Recycled Words: Adam Ortiz, director of the county Department of Environmental Protection, will speak at noon at the Montgomery County Planning Department, 8787 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring. His topic: “Aiming for Zero Waste: The Future of Recycling and Sustainability in Montgomery County.”
2. Municipal Monday: The Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 31 S. Summit Ave. The Montgomery County Planning Commission is holding a preliminary plan application community meeting in Kensington on 4000 Knowles Ave. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Map Room at Kensington Town Hall, 3710 Mitchell St.
3. Legislative Dinner: Leadership Montgomery is hosting a dinner with members of the county’s 2019 legislative delegation and County Council members. Cost is $25 for Legislative Montgomery graduates and $40 for others. The dinner starts at 5 p.m. in the County Council Office Building Cafeteria.
4. Rec News: Pickleball registration is filling up.
