Five Things to Know for Dec. 17 in Montgomery County

It’s Monday, Dec. 17, and here are five things you need to know:

1. Listening Tour Continues: County Executive Marc Elrich continues his series of listening sessions at Churchill High School, 11300 Gainsborough Road, Potomac. The session starts at 7:30 p.m.

2. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg, Poolesville and the Upcountry Citizens Advisory Board meet. Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council meets at 7:30 p.m. You can find the agenda here. Poolesville’s commissioners meet starting at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 19721 Beall St. The agenda includes a resolution forming the Fair Access Committee. UCAB’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Upcounty Regional Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Road, Germantown. The discussion includes preparation for the 2020 census and school construction priorities. Here’s the agenda.

3. Good Eating: A presentation for Montgomery County Table Crop Farmers starts at 7 p.m. at Ag History Farm Park, 18410 Muncaster Road, Derwood. Participants will learn about how nearby small-scale farmers sell to local individual, retail, wholesale, and institutional buyers and restaurants.

4. Holiday Tradition: The Moscow Ballet performs the Nutcracker beginning at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda.

5. Holiday Gifts: The Sandy Spring Museum will host its 11 artist residents as well as other local artists displaying unique, handcrafted items for sale. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It continues daily until Dec. 31. Click here to learn more.
