Five Things to Know for Aug. 27 in Montgomery County

Today is Tuesday, Aug. 27. Public schools will open for a new academic year in a week! Here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Naloxone Training: County residents can learn about the medication used to reverse opioid overdoses tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Health and Human Services office on 401 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. Here’s more information.

2. Helping Individuals Reach Employment: Career specialists form WorkSorce Montgomery are giving a Helping Individuals Reach Employment (HIRE) presentation at the Rockville Memorial Library in Collaboration Room #3. The specialists will help review resumés, job applications, career exploration and more. The presentation is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Here’s more information.

3. Medical Museum Science Café: The National Museum of Health and Medicine has a free presentation tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. about the history of United States hospital ships. Here’s more information.

4. Yoga in the Park:  The City of Gaithersburg offers a free Yoga in the Park class from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Gaithersburg Concert Pavilion. It’s the last Yoga in the Park event of the summer, so make sure to get stop by for the final class. Here’s more information.

5. Google Translate Workshop: Sophia Yoon is giving a free workshop at the Rockville Senior Center about how to use the Google Translate application on a smartphone. The event is from 1 to 2 p.m. Here’s more information.
