Five Things to Know for April 22 in Montgomery County

Today is Monday, April 22. Cross your fingers. It could be a pleasant week ahead. Here’s the forecast.

1. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council holds a budget hearing at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. You can see the budget here. And here’s the agenda for the budget hearing. And Kensington holds a work session on the town’s sign ordinance at 7 p.m. at the Town Office, 3710 Mitchell St.

2. Council Action: The County Council’s Government Operations Committee meets, starting at 1:30 p.m. in the Seventh Floor Hearing Room to review items in the proposed fiscal 2020 recommended budget. Council staff reports can be seen here, here, here, here and here.

3. Egg-Citing Time: Takoma Park holds its Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Ed Wilhelm Field.

4. Wild Child Hike: Children 4 to 12 will scamper like squirrels, balance like billy goats and run like rabbits through the Black Hills Regional Park, 20926 Lake Ridge Drive in Boyds. The $5 fee to goes to Friends of Black Hills. Click here for more information.
