Councilmember Jawando Responds to MCPS’ Report on Damascus Incidents

Late Tuesday afternoon, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) announced that their internal investigation into the horrific incidents that took place in the boy’s locker room at Damascus High School on October 31 was complete.

Some of the next steps announced at the news conference:

  • disciplinary action has been taken but no specifics were released
  • the entire JV football coaching staff will be replaced
  • the “entire football program” (presumably both junior varsity and varsity) will be under “probationary oversight”

MCM caught up with Councilmember Will Jawando this morning to get his reaction.
