Congressional Candidate Kathleen Matthews Endorses Chris Van Hollen for Senate

UPDATED March 4 Candidate for Maryland’s 8th congressional district Kathleen Matthews backed U.S. Rep. Chris Van Hollen over U.S. Rep. Donna Donna Edwards in Maryland’s Senate race on Feb. 22.

In this MyMCMedia Extra video, Kathleen Matthews, candidate for Maryland’s 8th Congressional District, talks about her endorsement.

“I have been fortunate to have him as my congressman for 13 years and have supported his campaign for the Senate from the time he announced in March 2015. It’s time that I make my support of his campaign official. As a progressive Democrat and advocate for women and working families, Chris has represented my views on many important issues,” Matthews said in statement.

Van Hollen and Edwards are competing for in the April 26 Democratic primary for the nomination for retiring Sen. Barbara Mikulski’s seat.

Matthews is running against candidates; David Anderson, Kumar Barve, Will Jawando, Jamie Raskin, Joel Rubin, Ana Sol-Gutierrez and  David Trone, to succeed Van Hollen.
