MoCo Hacks Toward Civic Improvement (Video)

Montgomery County officials pulled on the expertise in the community for their first Civic Day of Hacking. The event hosted on June 1 at The Universities of Shady Grove, was one of about 95 held around the country. Officials pitched five issues to a room full of about 50 technology savvy residents. 

Rockville Relays to Cope with Loss (Video)

Relay for Life of Rockville celebrates 18 years of helping people get over grief by walking it out.

About 200 family and friends attended this year’s event at Tilden Middle School, located at 11211 Old Georgetown Rd., to raise money to find a cure for cancer. This event is one of many hosted by The American Cancer Society to raise money for a cure.

Public Forum on Zoning Code Set for June 11

The Montgomery County Council will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on June 11, on the first major rewrite of the County Zoning Code since 1978. Goals for the rewrite include to update all aspects of the ordinance, create more predictability in the standards and promote “green” land use practices.
