1. Hypothermia Alert: Montgomery County is under a Hypothermia Alert until 10 a.m. Emergency Management issues the alert when temperatures/wind chill is forecast below 32 degrees. Extreme cold is dangerous, the county warns. See hypothermia warning signs and what to do here.

2. Redistricting Meeting: At 5 p.m., the Commission on Redistricting will meet to approve a final report to deliver a new map to the county council. Two weeks ago, members voted 6-5 for the map it will send to the council recommending how to divide Montgomery County into new districts. The meeting will be livestreamed on the council’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
3. Weekly Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich and health leaders will hold their media briefing at 12:30 p.m. Residents can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

4. Senior Planet: Senior Planet Montgomery continues to offer free Zoom classes to senior residents. Today’s classes include “Easy-To-Follow Tai Chi” and “Essential Fact Checking Skills.”
5. ICYMI: The Montgomery County Council, sitting as the Board of Health, voted unanimously on Tuesday to reinstate the indoor mask mandate if the county reaches seven straight days of CDC-defined substantial coronavirus transmission, rather than one day as a previous regulation required. The regulation will automatically terminate when 85% of the county’s total population is fully vaccinated according to CDC data.
