1. Road Closure: Montgomery Parks is closing two sections of Sligo Creek Parkway for repairs today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Two sections will be closed to all traffic, including cars, pedestrians, and bikes.
- Sligo Creek Parkway from Kennebec Avenue to Maple Avenue
- Sligo Creek Parkway from Colesville Road (Route 29) to Wayne Avenue
2. Friday Conversation with Friedson: Councilmember Andrew Friedson invites residents to an informal virtual meeting today at 11:30 a.m. Register for the Zoom meeting here.
3. Election Countdown: There are 45 days until the Presidential Election on Nov. 3. The Montgomery County Board of Elections encourages voters to plan ahead for mail-in deadlines.

4. COVID-19 Testing: Free testing is available today in Germantown and Silver Spring from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here for more details.
5. Food Distribution: Starting today, MCPS is increasing to a triple meal service on Fridays to help address food insecurity for students over the weekend. A Grab & Go food distribution will take place at the City of Light Church Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
And one more thing: The Fourth Annual Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival kicks off Sunday, Sept. 20 at noon when officials will unveil an eight-foot pyramid in the first event on the new Marian Fryer Town Plaza.
