1.Ride Smart: Free public transit travel training for ages 50+ will take place today at the White Oak Senior Center in Silver Spring from 10:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Attendees will learn how to read Ride On & Metro bus schedules, how to save money by using farecards, and much more.

2. Fulks Corner Farmers Market: The City of Gaithersburg is providing residents with locally grown produce throughout the growing season.  There will be seasonal fruits and vegetables, baked goods, teas, herb and spice blends, beef, eggs, beef jerky, flowers, and dog treats are for sale at Fulks Corner Avenue from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Click here for more details.

3. Bridging the Gap…with Adult Children and Grandchildren: This event will address the different stages of life for the different generations . How to communicate and relate to one another despite differences will be addressed. This is an educational workshop and support group that will take place at the Rockville Senior Center from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

5. Civilian Response to Active Shooter Training: Maryland State Police in Rockville will host a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Training. This will take place at 7915 Montrose Road, in Rockville from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. .Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
