Hogan to Discuss Trump’s Demeaning Tweets on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’
Governor Larry Hogan is scheduled to appear on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Thursday, a few days after President Trump sent out demeaning tweets about the city of Baltimore and Representative Elijah Cummings.
In a Twitter thread from July 27, Trump referred to Baltimore as a “a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess,” and a “very dangerous & filthy place.” Twitter users, news outlets and Baltimore residents quickly responded to the tweets, questioning the legitimacy of the president’s claims.
….As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

Hogan, a Republican, tweeted in support of the city and criticized the tone of Trump’s statements.
What we care about is the city of Baltimore and fixing the problems. It's the heart of our state, the lifeblood of Maryland, and home to very strong and resilient people who we all care about.

“Late Night” host and comedian Seth Meyers also condemned Trump’s tweets in a clip from his show, calling them “a vile, racist tirade.” Considering their shared opinion of the tweets, it is likely that Meyers and Hogan will discuss the comments when they meet on Thursday. The show airs nightly at 12:30 a.m.
