Five Things to Know for July 26 in Montgomery County

Today is Friday, July 26, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. Food Recovery and Community Impact: Montgomery Parks speaker series about food continues tonight on the topic of food recovery. Cheryl Kollin talks about food recovery as a way to alleviate hunger in the county and decrease food waste at the landfill. Register for the free talk at Brookside Gardens from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., here.

2. Lenny Kurlou concert: The Wheaton TGIF Concert Series continues tonight at as reggae favorite Lenny Kurlou highlights the second of four free summer concerts at Wheaton Veterans Urban Park at 7 p.m.

3. Park Police Community Day: Meet Park Police officers today from 4 to 6 p.m at Upper County Community Recreation Center in Gaithersburg. There will be mounted, motorcycle and K-9 demonstrations, games, rock wall climbing, face painting, and snow cones.

4. Pickin’ on the Porch: Summer concerts return to the Agricultural History Farm Park Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Local musicians play roots, acoustic and bluegrass. Registration required, here.

5. Bites and Brews tour:  Explore four breweries located in Montgomery County’s 93,000-acre Agricultural Reserve. The tour includes transportation, lunch, and select tastings. Stops include The Family Room, Elder Pine Brewing, Tusculum Farm and Waredaca Brewing Company. Register, here.
