Five Things to Know for May 31 in Montgomery County

Today is Friday, May 31 and here is a rundown of five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Commencements: Four schools hold graduation ceremonies today. Damascus High School will hold its ceremony at 9 a.m. at the school. Magruder High School will graduate the Class of 2019 at 10 a.m. at DAR Constitution Hall. Rock Terrace School will also hold their graduation ceremony at 10 a.m. at the school. Quince Orchard High School students will receive their diplomas at DAR Constitution Hall at 2:30 p.m.

2. Coffee and Conversation with Sidney Katz:  Council Vice President Sidney Katz will chat with residents today over coffee at the Rockville Panera Bread from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

5. Water Safety: The cities of Gaithersburg and Rockville are jointly hosting Water Safety Day from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Bohrer Park Water Park in Gaithersburg. Tomorrow, Saturday, June 1, the County’s Recreation Department is hosting Water Safety Day from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wheaton/Glenmont pool.

And one more thing: Congratulations to the Town of Kensington. The Town will celebrate it’s 125th anniversary with music, kids games, historic displays and more. The community celebration takes place Sunday, June 2 from 1 to 4 p.m.
