5 Things to Know Today, March 22, In Montgomery County

Today is Monday, March 22, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County.

1. North Bethesda Road Closure:  The intersection of Executive Boulevard and Old Georgetown Road in North Bethesda will be completely closed to traffic for five months starting today.

2. Council Media Briefing: Council President Tom Hucker and Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen will hold a media briefing today at 11 a.m. to discuss American Rescue Plan, the proposed 2022 operating budget, and the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

3. Congressman Trone Q&A with Dr. Anthony Fauci:  Congressman David Trone will hold an online webinar with Dr. Anthony Fauci to answer questions about the coronavirus today at 3 p.m. Register for the webinar and submit questions here.

4. Municipal Monday: Gaithersburg’s Mayor and Council meet virtually for a work session at 7:30 p.m. to discuss a reassessment of the stormwater fee. Here are the agenda and the work packet.  The Rockville Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m.. They plan to work on the FY 2022 budget beginning at 8:45 p.m. Here is the agenda with supporting documents.

5. Library Renewals:  The public libraries will automatically renew most items starting today. Exceptions include express books, Go! Kits, Mobile hotspots, online interlibrary loans, eBooks, e-Audiobooks, Library of Things instruments and materials which holds have been placed by other readers.
