- AFI Silver Screens free outdoor film series continues with Paris Blues in downtown Silver Spring’s Veterans Plaza.
- Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club present Popa Chubby playing the blues at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
- The opening reception for the 46th Annual Labor Day Art Show at Glen Echo Park will be held in the historic Spanish Ballroom from 7:30 – 9 p.m.
- Landless Theatre Company in partnership with Arts on the Green present the The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.
Saturday, September 3:
- The 23rd Annual Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run, Walk and Kid’s Fun Runs will take place starting at 8 am on Main Street near the Kentlands/Lakelands Market Square Plaza in Gaithersburg.
- The 46th Annual Labor Day Art Show at Glen Echo Park will be held in the historic Spanish Ballroom from Saturday, September 3 through Monday, September 5 from 12 pm – 6 pm each day.
- Explore classes and programs at the Glen Echo Park Open House from noon to 4 p.m.
- The first place Washington Spirit take on the Western New York Flash at 7 p.m. in the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds. Come early for a special presentation to congratulate the three Spirit players who won bronze medals playing for the Canadian soccer team in the Rio Olympics.
- Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club present Jeff Bradshaw at 8 p.m.
