Halloween is over and we’ve noticed a few Holiday events that might be of interest. Olney Theatre’s production of Mary Poppins opened this week and runs through the end of the year. The Catholic University Chamber Orchestra performs Peter and the Wolf at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn Saturday. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra performs two concerts with selections from The Nutcracker Friday and Sunday. Next weekend the annual Museum Shop Around at Strathmore Mansion features unique gifts from numerous local, state and national museums and art venues.

- Rockville Musical Theatre presents Shrek the Musical at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.
- Montgomery Parks has numerous events planned for Maryland Emancipation Day in Germantown, Olney, Sandy Spring and Wheaton.

- The National Philharmonic performs Handel’s Coronation Anthem No. 1 at the Strathmore Music Center.
- Instrumentalist Edmar Castañeda performs chamber music at BlackRock Center for the Arts.
Sunday, November 6:
