Art:

• The Mansion at Strathmore has two exhibits on display now through Feb. 19. The La Vie en Bleu exhibit explores the color blue. The Crossfade exhibit includes works by young Baltimore artists. A closing reception and film screening for the Crossfade exhibit is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
• BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown has three exhibits open now through Feb. 4.  Artists Julia Dzikiewicz, Linda Colsh, and Michael Fischerkeller will talk about their work and lead a tour of the three galleries Saturday, Feb. 4.
• Bethesda’s Gallery B February exhibit features sculpture by Caroline Champetier de Ribes, photographs by mari matsuri and paintings by Brigitte Zelenko. The exhibit is on display now through February 25 with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.
• Waverly Street Gallery’s “Two for the Road” exhibit features the photography of Kate Stillwell and Wil Scott. The exhibit is on display through Feb. 4.
• The “Winter White” exhibit is on display at Gaithersburg Arts Barn through Feb. 27. The exhibit focuses on work that has little or no color.

Family:

• The Puppet Co. Playhouse production of Goldilocks for young children and their families continues at Glen Echo Park with five performances this weekend.
• Montgomery Parks help families explore the world of archaeology at the Gaithersburg Community Museum Discovery Day on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Hands-on activities include Site-In-A-Can, Tin Smithing, Marble Making, Seed Identification, and Ceramic Mending.
• Celebrate the Lunar New Year with numerous activities, performances and more at Lake Forest Mall. Plan your visit with this program guide.
• Adventure Theatre’s musical Ella Enchanted opens Feb. 3 at their theater in Glen Echo Park.
• Coming soon:
  • Imagination Stage’s next show, The Freshest Snow Whyte, is a Hip Hop interpretation of the classic fairytale and opens Feb. 11.

Music:

• British pianist and composer Bill Laurance performs at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club Friday, Feb. 3.
• The National Philharmonic & Princeton Entertainment present Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions, a video game concert, at Strathmore Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
• The HillBenders present The Who’s “Tommy”: A Bluegrass Opry Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.
• Performers pay tribute to rock n’ roll legend Buddy Holly at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m.
• Local jazz favorite Marcus Johnson and his Urban Jam Band perform at AMP Saturday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m.
• Clarinetist Jeremy Eig and The Sage Chamber Players perform selections from Mozart and Weber at Gaithersburg Arts Barn Sunday, Feb. 5. Patrons may meet and talk with the artists following the performance.
• The St. Olaf Choir, known for its a cappella choral excellence, perform at Strathmore, Sunday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m.

Theater:

• Rockville Little Theater’s production of The Miracle Worker comes to the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre Feb. 3 through 12.
• The musical Caroline, or Change based on the book by Tony Kushner continues this week at Round House Theatre in Bethesda.
• Olney Theatre presents the dark musical Sweeney Todd.  The show opened Feb. 1 and runs through March 5.
