Art Walk in the Park: Glen Echo Park hosts open studios and artist demonstrations every first Friday of the month May through September. The Washington Conservatory of Music performs.  Friday, July 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Glen Echo Park. Click here for more information. Free.

Joe Clair and Friends: Bethesda Blue and Jazz Club feature a night of comedy on the first Saturday of each month. Enjoy a night of laughter as Joe Clair will host featured comedians Freddie Ricks, Ty Davis, Tommy Chunn. Marv Ashby and High Octane:  BlackRock’s Saturday night summer concerts continue with a band from the West Virginia Panhandle performing bluegrass. Bring a blanket or low-rise lawn chair and enjoy the outdoor concert. Food trucks and BlackRock’s Beer and Wine Garden will have food and drink for purchase. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike: Arts on the Green in partnership with Sandy Spring Theatre Group present the touching comedy that won the 2013 Tony award for best play. Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, July 7 at 2 p.m. Runs through July 20. Recommended for ages 15 and up. Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg. L’Homme Cirque: The One-Man Circus: World-famous high wire dancer and veteran of Cirque du Soleil and Big Apple Circus David Dimitri performs a one man circus on the grounds of Strathmore. Dimitri sets up the circus tent himself that seats just 220 people. Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, July 7 at various times. The Mansion at Strathmore. Click here for more information. $20-$30.

Matilda, The Musical: Based on the book Matilda by Roald Dahl, this musical follows unlikely hero Matilda Wormwood as she takes down the school bully and saves the day in so many ways.
