The Daley at Westside Shady Grove Opens This Weekend (VIDEO)
The Daley, a mixed use building, is opening its doors in the new Westside at Shady Grove Metro community this weekend.
EYA Developer McLean Quinn said the building features 333 apartment homes and 17,000 square feet of new retail space along Gramercy Boulevard off of Crabbs Branch Way.
“It’s a great new modern building,” said Quinn, who touts the building’s amenities and its proximity to the Shady Grove Metro.

According to Quinn, the building is more modern than most other rental apartments located in this part of Montgomery County.
“When we were designing this property, we really modeled it after some of the more contemporary apartment buildings that you’ll see in the district,” he said.
Developers have announced that Starbucks and a nail salon are two of the building’s first retailers. The shops are expected to open later this summer. Quinn said more stores are coming to the Westside area, including a grocery store, restaurant and a drycleaners.
“We are very focused on a mix that serves the neighborhood,” said Quinn. “Several weeks ago we filed a preliminary plan amendment to convert the office parcel of our property to retail and that would allow us to introduce an urban format grocery store at the corner of Crabbs Branch Way and Shady Grove Road. We are very early in the process but we are really excited to bring that amenity to the neighborhood.”
Now that the Metro access connection and signal are open, Westside residents can walk from the community to the Shady Grove Metro station in a matter of minutes. Quinn said it’s an even faster ride on a bike. There are now two Capital Bikeshare stations in the transit oriented neighborhood, and another at the Shady Grove Metro.
