The Planning Department recently hosted a launch party for the new book, Montgomery Modern: Modern Architecture in Montgomery County, Maryland, 1930-1979 at The Writer’s Center in Bethesda. The students and staff at Gaithersburg Elementary School are celebrating the number of books they read this school year. And even though school is now out, these students are expected to do a lot of reading this summer, too. MyMCMedia’s Sonya Burke reports.

Gaithersburg Elementary School students read over 37,000 books this school year. On June 12th, the nearly 900 students circled the school with a paper link representing all of the books they have read. Find out more in this MyMCMedia Extra video:
