Summer Lunch Program Begins Next Week in Montgomery County

As the 2017-2018 school year comes to an end, Montgomery County Public Schools officials are reminding residents in need that the school district remains committed to ensuring that students are receiving a healthy meal free of charge during the summer.

Approximately 35 percent of MCPS students are eligible for free and reduced price meals and the summer school lunch program is designed to bridge the nutrition gap when school is out, according to MCPS officials.

The Division of Food and Nutrition Services is offering free meals to students ages 18 and under,  from June 18 until August 24. Appointments are not necessary, but the meal must be consumed on site.
