Big Names to Play at 10th Annual Silver Spring Blues Festival

Critically acclaimed bands will play alongside local artists at the 10th Annual Silver Spring Blues Festival Saturday, June 16.

Among the performers are local band Little Bit A Blues, fan favorite Moonshine Society, Biscuit Miller and the Mix, and Harried Americans.

Little Bit A Blues received a WAMMIE nomination and a JIMI award for their most recent record, “The Best of Little Bit A Blues: Live at B.B. King’s Bluesville.” Member Warner Williams won the 2011 National Heritage Fellowship awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts, which is the United States’ highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.

Moonshine Society’s dance-able roots rock, blues and old school R&B has won them multiple WAMMIE nominations for Best Blues/Traditional R&B band, Best Blues/Traditional R&B album, and Best Blues/Traditional R&B Vocalist.

Biscuit Miller won a Blues Music Award for the first time in 2012, and most recently in 2017 for Best Blues Bassist.

DC-based Harried Americans comprise GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter Chris Anderson, seven-time WAMMIE-winning drummer Ron Goad, keyboardist Mark Johnson and bassist Niels Jonker.

Performances will be on Veterans Plaza starting at 10 a.m. and at the Fountain Stage starting at 3 p.m.
