Senior Connection Wins Grand Star Award, Top Prize Includes Toyota Prius (VIDEO)

The National Volunteer Transportation Center (NVTC) has announced that this year’s Grand Star award is going to be awarded to the Senior Connection, a nonprofit located in Silver Spring. This top prize includes a Toyota Prius.

Senior Connection facilitated over 13,000 trips for Montgomery County residents who needed transportation last year, and the demand for these rides continues to grow across the county.

This week, a PSA about the importance of volunteerism is being filmed at Senior Connection’s offices in Silver Spring. The Grand Star Award will be formally presented to the Senior Connection organization later this month at the Community Transportation Association of America Expo in Portland, Oregon.
