Here are five things to know today, May 12, in Montgomery County:

1. Malcom Winffel’s funeral is today at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial, donations are requested to Winffel’s funeral fund or to the Montgomery College Scholarship Foundation.

2. The Montgomery County Board of Education is scheduled to meet with the Poolesville Cluster today at Poolesville High School.

3. Director of Montgomery County’s Silver Spring Regional Area Reemberto Rodriguez is scheduled to discuss his personal journey to Cuba tonight at the Silver Spring Civic Building.

4. Davis Library will be screening “Capote” tonight at 6 p.m. as part of its True Film Series.

5. The Mansion at Strathmore will feature author Seema Reza tonight for Arts and the Brain: Writing to Heal. Reza will discuss her work with service members fighting PTSD.
