Richard Montgomery Falls Short to Quince Orchard in Varsity Basketball Jan. 19
Richard Montgomery Rockets boys varsity led at half time 21-18 and seemingly in control of their away game against Quince Orchard. The QO boys came out after the break increasing the level of defense on the floor and made a game of this contest. By the end of the 3rd quarter the game was all tied up at 28 apiece and the Rockets had their work cut out for them.
Quince Orchard, the defending state 4A west champions and state 4A runner-ups are not quite the same team as last year, but that does not change their demeanor in close games. It’s all defense and ball movement they use to wear down the opponent, in this instance the Rockets. QO built a 39-30 lead late in the 4th quarter and basically held serve through out the many fouls RM committed at the end of the game. Foul shooting was the deciding point and QO pulled away with a 10 point win 47 to 37 to the pleasure of the home crowd.
