Police Release Photo of Kidnapping, Robbery Suspect
Montgomery County Police have released a photograph of one of the suspects they believe is behind a robbery and kidnapping in Silver Spring on Thursday.
According to police, a man who said he had been at the Maryland Live Casino the night before, was awoken about 6:30 a.m. by a knock at the door of his hotel room at the Marriott in Calverton. When he opened the door three men, one armed with a handgun, entered his room and robbed him, police said in a news release. He said the men demanded more money and he called a friend who came to the hotel room. The robbers then forced the friend to go to the Bank of America on Columbia Pike to withdraw more cash.
Before approaching the teller, the man wrote a note on the withdrawal slip asking the teller to contact police. The teller contacted police, and the robbers fled from the bank.
According to police, the robber who stayed with the first robbery victim in the hotel room abruptly left the room and the victim fled to a nearby Home Depot and called police.
Neither of the victims was injured in this incident, according to police.
